Running for my generationGiacomo Czajkowski
( Marathon 2020 )
When you study at EUR, you feel like you are part of something greater than you. You feel part of a generation made of smart and ambitious people. A generation that is constantly trying to evolve, for itself and for society at large. The university is the place where ideas and knowledge are shared among people. It feels as if when you are constantly growing, the whole world is growing with you. There are not many places where such a feeling can be experienced.
However, when you are always surrounded by people like this it is easy to make the misjudgment that how the world is moving. But that is not the case for most young people. I am lucky to have access to education, just like most of my fellow students. But there are hundreds of thousands of people in the world who do not have this privilege. That is why I have the responsibility to do something about it. That is why we all should feel responsible to extend the access to higher education to most people as possible.
The marathon is the opportunity to do something about it. Something uncommon, something that should be common. It is the challenge of doing something exceptional, personally and for society.
So, I will run to feel and to share the feeling with as many people as possible, on the road and in the lecture room. And you can contribute to this, helping many others to feel the same way I do at Erasmus University.
You can create your own personalized poster to draw attention to this fundraising page. After printing the poster you can hang it in a shop, a café window or a community bulletin board. Ask your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to help and also put up a poster in their home, school or work place. Most people are willing to help but be sure to ask permission first.
