From one former international student to another...Kat Moy

I am raising money for scholarships for future international students who otherwise do not have the financial resources to study at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
As a former international student of Erasmus University from the USA, the financial costs of a master's was what held me back from professionalizing myself and staying in overworked design jobs for over 8 years. Even with the costs being a fraction of that compared to the US, no student should be held back by financial constraints to pursue their full potential.
On top of rising tuition costs, the housing shortage squeezes out students who cannot afford inflated housing prices. International students should not be seen as direct financial gain but an investment of international talent. The Dutch government has also called for universities to accept less international students, which does not necessarily begin to resolve the current housing crisis. This ruling is short-sighted and doesn't think of the future landscape of education and talent for the country.
A scholarship for one student costs € 15.000,00 for 1 year. By raising money at the Erasmus Charity Run with my colleagues at Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, we can invest in future education development in Rotterdam and be the open-minded university EUR values.
